The Shed is finally planning on reopening on Friday 25th June after a long 15 month closure due to the pandemic (subject to government restrictions).

We have revamped the interior and we’re now ready to revamp our team.

We are looking for the below roles to join our team – to apply, please read through the job descriptions and fill in the Google Forms link accordingly.

For all roles we expect you to have a strong work ethic, high energy, a willingness to learn and a drive to succeed. We have a small & close knit team, so it’s important that there is no animosity between staff.

It’s imperative that you have a charming demeanour when dealing with customers and a love for live music too. We want to you to be engaged with your environment whilst you’re on duty, and have an active role in the progression and development of the business. In short, we care that you care.

The hours worked will be every Friday and Saturday evening for key roles, with every Saturday and some Fridays for supporting roles.

From time to time we will have special events that take place outside of these days which you may be needed to work and will be informed of in advance.

There will be a training afternoon on Monday 21st June that you will be required to attend should you be successful in your application, with shifts beginning on Friday 25th June.

Vacancies

Supervisor: £9 per hour

Estimated Hours Of Work: Friday 5pm – 4am / Saturday 5pm – 5am

Duties: ensuring both bars stocked, clean & ready to open at the beginning of each shift, serving on the main bar, ensuring both bars run smoothly, breaks are taken on time, dealing with any aggressive customers, communicating with staff via radio, assisting with venue pack down.

Potential Progression: Bar Manager

 

Lead Bartender, Main Room: min. wage

Estimated Hours Of Work: Friday 7:30pm – 4am / Saturday 7pm – 5am

Duties: serving on the main bar, responsible for decision making in lieu of Supervisor, assisting with venue pack down

Potential Progression: Supervisor

 

Second Bartender, Main Room: min. wage

Estimated Hours Of Work: Friday 7:30pm – 4am / Saturday 8pm – 3am

Duties: serving on the main bar

Potential Progression: Lead Bartender

 

Third Bartender, Main Room: min. wage

Estimated Hours Of Work: occasional Fridays for busy shows, Saturday 11pm – 4am

Duties: glass washing & stocking, prepping popular drinks on back bar

Lead Bartner, The Vault: min. wage

Estimated Hours Of Work: Friday 5pm – 4am / Saturday 6pm – 5am

Duties: ensuring The Vault bar runs smoothly, interacting with customers, any entertainment (gaming, screenings on tv etc) is being actioned correctly, changing kegs in lieu of Second Vault Bartender / Bar Back, communicating on the radio & assisting with venue pack down

Potential Progression: Bar Supervisor

 

Second Bartender, The Vault: min. wage

Estimated Hours Of Work: occasional Fridays for busy shows, Saturday 9:30pm – 5am

Duties: changing kegs, glass collection & washing in The Vault plus serving on the bar inbetween core duties, & assisting with venue pack down

Potential Progression: Lead Bartender

 

Bar Back: min. wage

Estimated Hours Of Work: Friday 8pm – 2:30am / Saturday 8pm – 4am

Duties: ensure Vault Bar back stock is replenished from main room through night, kegs changed on request, empty kegs moved to keg drop throughout night, empty post mix boxes flattened and put in big bag in keg drop throughout night, The Vault bar fridges restocked, Main Room fridges restocked, stock room kept tidy, glasses collected and handed to bar throughout night

Potential Progression: Bartender

 

Cashier: min. wage

Estimated Hours Of Work: Friday 7:30pm – 9:30pm / Saturday 7pm – 3am

Duties: greeting guests for paid entry events in the venue, scanning advance tickets for entry and taking card payments for on the door tickets, ensuring the one way system is adhered to for guests entering and exiting the main room & communicating on the radio.

 

Events Intern

Estimated Hours Of Work: 16 per week, mix of remote admin work plus on site activities

Duties: to assist the Venue Manager with booking artists for in house gigs, assisting running the live events in house on Friday and Saturday evenings liaising with artists and staff

 

 

Alt DJ for Clubnights : Pay TBD

Estimate Hours Of Work: Saturday 11pm – 4am, possibility of increasing to Fridays in the future

Duties: playing & mixing new & the nostalgic alt rock tracks as per suggestions and requests provided to you to fit in line with the clubnight branding. Experience with live mixing on DJ software helpful but not necessary as training can be given. You will need to provide your own laptop, we can provide basic DJ decks in house.

Estimate Hours Of Work: Saturday 11pm – 4am, possibility of increasing to Fridays in the future
